Privacy Policy for CardMeld

CardMeld is an application developed by DigiMeld UG (haftungsbeschränkt). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

Data Collection and Usage

CardMeld may access the device camera to scan cards and related visual information. Camera access is used only when the user explicitly initiates a scan.

CardMeld does not read or collect the user's existing contacts from the device address book.

The app may create and manage its own contact entries within the device's contact system, but only for data generated inside the app (for example, scanned business cards).

CardMeld may download app-related contact data from our servers to the device and create or update only CardMeld-managed contact entries locally on the device. The user's existing contacts are never accessed, uploaded, transmitted, or synchronized to any server.

Data Storage and Sharing

CardMeld does not sell or share personal data with third parties. Scanned business card information may be processed by our servers as part of the app functionality. CardMeld may then download app-related contact data from our servers to the device and store it locally in CardMeld-managed contact entries.

CardMeld does not access, upload, store, or synchronize the user's existing contacts from the device address book to our servers.

Crash diagnostics and stability data may be collected via Firebase Crashlytics to improve app reliability. This data does not include personally identifiable information.

User Control

You can revoke camera or contacts permissions at any time via your device settings.

Account and Data Deletion

CardMeld allows users to request deletion of personal data independently from account deletion. The only personal data associated with a CardMeld account is the email address used for account access.

If a user requests deletion of personal data without deleting the account, the email address will be permanently removed. As a result, the account will be automatically blocked and will no longer be accessible, since the email address is required for authentication and account recovery.

Blocking the account in this case is a technical consequence of personal data deletion and does not constitute account deletion. The blocked account cannot be used or reactivated without creating a new account.

Users may also request full account deletion. In this case, the account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted.

After verification, requested actions will be completed within 30 days, unless legal obligations require longer retention.
